We’re Ash and Mell—best mates since early high school. Our friendship has spanned decades, shaped by shared values, a love for the land, and plenty of laughs along the way. Years down the track, Mell married Ash’s brother, turning a lifelong friendship into family—and the rest is history.
Ash grew up in the show ring and later became a hairdresser before heading north to work in the bush. That experience sparked a shift—she set her sights on the horse industry, working under some of the country’s top horsemen. After years of dedication, Ash has become one of the leading trainers in the industry. She brings the creative vision to Leader Denim and is our ultimate test pilot—if it works for Ash, it’ll work for anyone.
Mell grew up on a cattle station in North QLD spending her early years campdrafting with her family. Her path led to studying business and accounting. She’s the one keeping the numbers in check—and Ash, too. Mell’s all about structure, strategy, and making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Together, we balance creativity and structure, style and substance. Leader Denim is our way of creating something that truly works for the lifestyle we live—from the paddock to the arena, and everywhere in between.
